GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:        FLSA:  Hourly       

Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students.  Contributes to effective school and public relations by prompt and courteous handling of telephone inquiries and campus visitors.

 

MAJOR TASKS:                                                                                                          

•     Greets all visitors courteously, determines needs, checks for appointments and directs or escorts  

        visitors to appropriate person.

•     Answers telephone and responds appropriately to requests for information.

•     Maintains an attractive and comfortable reception area which includes school and District publications         

        and periodicals of general interest.

•     Reports to proper authority the presence of any visitor who bypasses reception desk, or any unusual

        activity or behavior on the part of visitors.

•     Maintains a friendly, respectable appearance as a representative of the District.

•     Assists in office as requested.           

•     Provides clerical support for counselors and dean of students.                    

•     Distributes mail and internal correspondence.

•          Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•     High school graduate or equivalent.

•     Secretarial training or experience.

•     Ability to type accurately and operate computer.

•     Knowledge of office methods, good grammar, and operation of office equipment.

•          Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
