Description

Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. To maintain safety and discipline while students are being transported in vehicle.

 

Assists young and non-ambulatory students to assigned seats. Ensures that seat belts and objects are secured (books, toys, pencils, wheelchairs, etc.). Confer with driver about behavior problems. Be familiar with pre-determined bus route (s), including pick up and drop off points of all students on the vehicle. Controls any misbehavior by students which may distract the driver or interfere with the safety of other students in the vehicle. File disciplinary reports with the Director of Transportation. Be alert for any potential unsafe conditions and notify driver. Assists the driver in maintaining a clean interior and windows of the assigned vehicle. Enforce rules and discipline in a consistent manner. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

High school graduate or equivalent. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Capable of lifting 50 lbs.
