Description

To teach and supervise enrichment classes; to set the tone of the class, and to establish developmentally appropriate curriculum.

 

Designs and maintains a curriculum and the physical environment that includes developmentally appropriate materials and activities. Creates and maintains an interpersonal environment that:  welcomes all students, fosters self-esteem, respect for others, and independence; and             provides for individual differences and abilities. Plans and carries out daily activities that: are appropriate to the philosophy of Community Education;  are developmentally appropriate to the individual students of the class. Keeps written records of attendance. Maintains professional competence through continuing education, staff development, staff meeting attendance and participation in special school events.  Reports to the Community Education Enrichment Coordinator.

 

 

Training or experience in subject matter to be taught. Ability to communicate effectively with children and adults. Flexibility, creativity and a willingness to learn.
