To assist the teacher, supervisor and/or aide in caring for the children and maintaining the physical environment of the school facility.

 

Helps maintain existing physical environment in good condition. Maintains interpersonal environment that: Provides warmth and affection to all children equally. Fosters self-esteem, respect for others, and independence; and Provides for individual differences and abilities. Establishes good communication with parents. Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide in carrying out daily activities. Participates in self and school evaluations. Helps supervise children during education and play activities meeting their needs for attention, guidance, and safety. Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide, in leaving center cleaned, materials put away, and rooms locked. When requested, stays with teacher, supervisor, and/or aide until all children are picked up. Reports to teacher, supervisor, and/or aide. In charge of setting up activities & supplies before the students arrive. Helps with tutoring club when necessary. Attends Kids Club meetings and training when applicable.

 

High School student in good standing. Some experience with children preferred; especially Child Development classes. Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and willingness to learn.   FLSA:  Hourly

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
