GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:   FLSA:  Exempt

Supports Ed Services and site principals in their efforts to foster an optimal educational environment for students. The IC will assist teachers to improve teaching and learning.  The IC will develop and maintain strong working relationships with all teachers and will not be in an administrative or evaluative role. This position is grant funded.

 

MAJOR TASKS:

 

  • Understands the role of teacher and how to assist in basic teaching skills.
  • Assists teachers with classroom management skills.
  • Assists teachers with developing classroom routines.
  • Assists teachers with planning quality lessons.
  • Assists teachers with assessing student learning.
  • Assists teachers with best practices and techniques that benefit today’s learners.
  • Assists teachers with communication skills with students, parents and staff.
  • Assists teachers with clearly communicating student learning outcomes.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge and necessary skills in the current trends and practices of the profession.
  • Maintains an active interest through participation in professional and community activities related to education.
  • Participates in district educational meetings for the purpose of developing a stronger educational program.
  • Provide professional devolpment.
  • Performs other tasks as may be assigned by the principal.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Arizona Teaching Certificate
  • Arizona Administrative Certificate preferred.
  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution approved by the Governing Board.
  • At least five (5) years’ successful teaching experience, or such alternatives as
  • the Superintendent and Administration may find appropriate and acceptable.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find acceptable.
