Speech and Language Pathologist: $1500 Stipend for CCC Credentials and 1 day a week remote work
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: FLSA: Exempt
Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. To provide services for special education students with communication disorders of speech, language, voice and fluency.
MAJOR TASKS:

· Participates in staffing procedures.

· Provides appropriate report method to meet procedural requirements (evaluation reports, progress reports, written IEP)
|
· Develops and implements an Individual Education Plan (IEP.) for each student who has been diagnosed as needing therapy of this kind.
|
· Conducts regularly scheduled conferences with parents and teachers for the purpose of developing and monitoring the IEP.
|
· Develops, prepares and utilizes appropriate materials to support therapy approach.
|
· Provides therapy to help students achieve better communication.
|
· Assists teachers, parents and other specialists by providing strategies and suggestions to improve effective communication.
|
· Provides ongoing training for teachers and paraprofessionals to implement a variety of communication strategies, devices and technology.
|
· Educates staff according to speech language impairments, guidelines for eligibility of SLI services and federally funded mandated paperwork.
|
· Provides training and supervision to speech/language paraprofessionals implementing therapy programs.
· Maintains appropriate records to meet procedural requirements including data collection and MIPS.
· Attends and participates in regularly scheduled meetings conducted by the Special Education Director, including SLP department meetings, Sp. Ed. Meetings, district wide meetings, SST meetings and school site meetings if needed or appropriate to our field (when relevant).
· Maintains professional competence through inservice/staff developmental education provided by the District and/or self-selected professional growth activities (ArSHA & ASHA).
· When applicable or appropriate, responsible for programming augmentative communication devices and helping to determine the appropriateness of the device.
· May be in contact with private speech pathologists who service students, to discuss common therapy goals, techniques and progress.
· May need to contact private schools that are servicing CCUSD district children to discuss progress reports, IEPs, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:

· Valid AZ Speech and Language Therapy certificate or Professional certificate, effective January 1, 2007
|
· PREFERRED
· MS/MA degree from an accredited institution with a major (or equivalent) in speech and language
· Certificate of Clinical Competence
SUPERVISION: Received from: Director of Special Education
EVALUATION:
|
At least once annually by the administrator in accordance with the policy of the Governing Board.
