Occupational Therapist: $1500 Stipend for NBCOT Credentials and 1 day a week remote work
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. Provide services through the I.E.P. process to enable children to better benefit from their education program. Services may include any of the following: screening, evaluation, consultation, and/or direct treatment.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Screens and evaluates, when necessary, students referred by the multidisciplinary team; writes evaluation reports based upon assessments; provides information to staff and parents regarding screening and evaluation results.
- Develops Individual Education plan (I.E.P.) goals and objectives that are educationally relevant
- Implement educational based plans/goals and objectives using evidence-based research methods. Provides services using an integrated service delivery model, pull-out approach, and/or classroom consultation.
- Collaborates as a member of the multidisciplinary team in monitoring progress, planning programs, and resolving problems/issues.
- Consults with parents and staff regarding student’s progress and needs.
- Maintains required logs, documents, records and schedules in accordance with District procedures
- Open ongoing communication with ESS office, school administration, and multidisciplinary team
- Maintains professional conduct and ethics in all District matters.
- Consults with parent/guardian and staff regarding the use of assistive technology in school and/or home.
- Provide supervision to COTA through direct and indirect contact while maintaining logs and documentations as required by current ABOTE guidelines.
- Provide training to classroom staff and parents regarding individual and/or group student(s) need(s), classroom accommodations/adaptations and program planning.
- Provide supervision to OT/OTA students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of an accredited program (minimum BA/BS level).
- Completion of appropriate license procedures.
