General Responsibilitites:
To assist the teacher, supervisor and/or aide in caring for the children and maintaining the physical environment of the school facility
Major Tasks:
- Helps maintain existing physical environment in good condition.
- Maintains interpersonal environment that:
- Provides warmth and affection to all children equally.
- Fosters self-esteem, respect for others, and independence; and Provides for individual differences and abilities.
- Establishes good communication with parents.
- Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide in carrying out daily activities.
- Participates in self and school evaluations.
- Helps supervise children during education and play activities meeting their needs for attention, guidance, and safety.
- Assists teacher, supervisor and/or aide, in leaving center cleaned, materials put away, and rooms locked. When requested, stays with teacher, supervisor, and/or aide until all children are picked up.
- Reports to teacher, supervisor, and/or aide.
- In charge of setting up activities & supplies before the students arrive.
- Helps with tutoring club when necessary.
- Attends Kids Club meetings and training when applicable.
Qualifications:
- High School student in good standing.
- Some experience with children preferred; especially Child Development classes.
- Exhibit flexibility, creativity, and willingness to learn.
- FLSA: Hourly
