Performs duties as assigned by the Principal, under the supervision of the classroom teacher. Provides assistance to teachers.
- Monitors students in cafeteria and recess. Intervenes when issues arise. Contact office/nurse in the event of injury at recess or in cafeteria.
- Assist in monitoring student activities such as tests, drills, and practices and gives individual assignments as requested by the principal or teacher of class to which assigned.
- Assists with recording students' grades and maintains records as requested by principal or teacher to which assigned.
- Operates computers, copy machines, public address system, and audio visual equipment.
- Trains volunteers in use of office machines.
- Orders and maintains workroom supplies.
- Performs non-instructional duties, such as monitoring the lunchroom, library, playroom and playground.
- Substitutes when the secretary is absent and assists with office duties as needed.
- Assists teachers in upgrading the instructional programs.
- Accompanies groups on field trips as assigned.
- Maintains confidentiality of student information.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
