GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: FLSA: Hourly
Supports District schools and Principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. One on one assistance to medically fragile students.
MAJOR TASKS:
- Medical
- Assist student on the school bus to and from school.
- Monitor O2 saturation and oxygen tank equipment (tendency to retain CO2)
- Assist with maneuvering wheel chair.
- Feeding support via feeding tube
- Adjust headrest if necessary, apply sunblock if outdoors, sunglasses if necessary.
- Lifting required for toileting purposes.
- School/Classroom Setting
- Assist student in classroom setting as directed by classroom teacher, full inclusion coordinator and related service providers. To include:
- Preparing materials
- Assist with paper/pencil tasks
- Writing, book holding and page turning
- Coaching, cueing, scribing
- Documentation for academics and physical care.
- Performs other job-related duties and assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Documentation as appropriate.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- R.N. certification __ high tech.
- Ventilator certififed.
- Pediatric certified.
- Private duty experience.
- Must be able to perform major tasks.
- Must be able to work independently from oral and/or written instruction.
