Supports District schools and principals in their effort to foster an optimal educational environment for students. Performs grounds maintenance and gardening work and other job-related work as required.  Operates equipment as required for mowing, earth-moving and weed spraying.

 

• Cuts grass, rakes leaves, pulls weeds and edges lawns as necessary to maintain a neat appearance on grounds, around buildings, and on athletic fields as assigned.
• Trims and prunes trees and shrubs.
• Under direction of a certified applicator, sprays lawns and fields with fertilizer or insecticide.
• Operates power or hand mowers, edgers, sweepers and other equipment as required to maintain grounds.
• Assists with operation and repair of sprinkler systems and watering of grounds as needed.
• Repairs, cleans and services equipment, tools and vehicles used in grounds work assignments.
• Performs field striping and set ups as required for athletics.
• Maintains and repairs equipment and tools used in the maintenance program for safety purposes.
• Performs other job related duties as assigned.

 

•     High school graduate or the equivalent of the tenth grade.

•     Experience in groundswork and landscaping as appropriate in horticultural practices,and minor maintenance and repair of grounds equipment. 

•     Hold current Arizona Driver’s License.

•     Ability to work effectively with other employees.
